Paul Earl Limited was appointed as the electrical contractor for a new distribution hub in Uckfield, Sussex.
Based on a new commercial area, the project involved BIM design and build of the shell and core, followed by the fit out of the 49,500sq ft main warehouse and additional office areas. The development also included work on the car park and associated lighting, fuel station, jet wash service yards and van weight bridge.
Paul Earl Limited worked closely with Evander Properties to provide a wide range of services across the site.
Main switch panels were installed alongside cable containment, fire alarms, LED lighting, security and CCTV systems. The facility has created over 50 new jobs and is utilised by a major UK retail business, supplying goods to departments stores across the south and east of the UK.
This project took place over a 24 week programme and was the first ever distribution building we had worked on. Working continuously at heights for much of the first and second fix was of concern to our project team so we brought in specialist health and safety consultants to assist us in preparing for the works, with regards to ensuring the access equipment was selected for the works along with precisely the correct safety harnesses and lanyards utilised throughout the duration of the project. Daily method statement processes and tick sheets were incorporated into the daily routine of our site team during the entirety of the works, to ensure health and safety standards were retained throughout the entire construction programme.
